Agents,
We received over 3,300 applications for our Alliance of the Vanguard ambassador program. The passion for Ingress many of you exhibited in your submissions made it difficult to choose only twenty-four applicants.

We evaluated many criteria when choosing participants for this initial pilot program. The most important qualities for us were to find people that showed they could be objective, were not focused solely on their achievements, and most of all - had a burning passion for Ingress and the community. We believe our initial group of Vanguards exhibit all of these qualities and more.

The Vanguards will:
- provide Niantic with a sounding board to bounce ideas off of.
- help us amplify the message of Ingress.
- be good stewards of the community.

The Vanguards will not:
- be able to fast track help center tickets.
- officially adjudicate issues like NIA OPS.

We ask that you please respect these boundaries.

An update on OPR submissions

Agents,

Since OPR’s Portal Submissions were re-opened, we have been energized by the new and interesting Portals being discovered and shared for analysis by the OPR community.

Please be aware that some OPR submissions, especially those in areas with high concentrations of existing Portals, may take longer to process. We will, in some cases, be performing additional analysis on these Candidate Portals to help ensure high Portal quality. In the meantime, you may not receive updates on your Portal submission. Be assured that each submission will be processed, though not always in the order in which it was received.

We encourage you to explore new Portals in areas further afield, where the Portal Network remains ripe for development.

- A new feature is coming in OPR to stop submitting duplicate portals.

- Niantic team is investigating a way to identify off-site rechargers at the 2018 Anomalies, although the decision to not award the Anomaly Badge to off-site rechargers at Q4 Anomalies is final.

- Vanguards will have the important task of finding a substitute to the Guardian Badge.

- Andrew stated that he will dye his hair blue if the resistance wins #EXO5

- Intel Map 2.0 might come to life, but not immediately
