After the Szczecin event had ended, we put forth an idea of a tiebreaker event. The POCs for Szczecin have met and discussed their path forward collectively. Their decision is to finalize the battle as a tie and forego the tiebreaker event. We respect their decision and will be withdrawing the tiebreaker event. Szczecin will officially be considered a tie with each faction earning .5 points.

As it relates to the error that occurred, we are deeply regretful that the outcome of the Anomaly could not come to a natural and satisfactory conclusion dictated solely by the play of the Agents on the day. We apologize for this and are researching the cause of the issue to ensure it doesn’t occur at future events. Thank you for your understanding and for all of the Agents who participated in events on August 26th.

In order to increase the amount of data being gathered during this tour, we will track THE NUMBER OF RESONATORS DEPLOYED on the November Lima Portal at each stop.

The ‘scores’ for each city will be maintained in an open research log at http://nian.tc/nl1331e2017score.

Each week, the city with the highest performance will be rewarded a high-output Portal Farm — which will be deployed on a weekend into a central part of the city, and will remain active for a portion of a day or a limited number of hacks, whichever comes first.

Information (date & location) of the farms will be updated in the ‘scoring’ document.

In addition to the weekly winners of the high-output Portal Farms, the three highest performing cities across the tour will each receive an additional high-output Portal Farming day on another weekend.

The Alliance of the Vanguards is seeking members!

What is the Alliance of the Vanguards?
Think of it as Niantic's version of an Ingress Ambassador Program.

What is an Ambassador Program?
Ambassadors, or Vanguards as we are calling them, are a group of compensated volunteers that perform various duties on behalf of, and in coordination with, Niantic, Inc. and the Ingress Global Community Manager.

What must a Vanguard do?
1) Act as an official sounding board and provide feedback on various things ranging from marketing ideas to software features.
2) Engage with and share content from the Ingress account.
3) Create content that the Ingress account can re-share and engage with.
4) Identify new Ambassadors
5) Support other programs like the Trusted Reporters, Embedded Reporters, etc.

Various levels of participation will earn various rewards. These range from custom bio cards to a trip to San Francisco once a year for a Vanguard summit.
