🇬🇧 The all-black specification everyone pictures when the model is mentioned. We commissioned this vehicle from the UK in 2023 — Cyprus roads ever since, its recent history written here in front of us. Now its owner is moving on.
⚙️ 306 hp and 700 Nm of twin-turbo diesel from just above idle. Overtakes happen in one squeeze rather than one downshift-and-wait. Around 7.6 l/100 km, so Limassol to Paphos and back barely moves the needle. €520 a year in road tax.
🛋 Extended Windsor leather across the dashboard and door tops, not just the 16-way memory seats. Heating in both rows — the option nobody remembers to order. Meridian sound. 21-inch split-spoke wheels. Gesture tailgate. Low range and Terrain Response 2 under the black bodywork, because it is still a real Land Rover.

🇯🇵 White over red has lived in the Mercedes book since the 300 SL Gullwing — and slowly became the box almost nobody is brave enough to tick. Found in Japan on a client's commission, documented panel by panel at auction, delivered in Cyprus.
⚙️ Five seats, a family boot and 0–100 in about 5.0 seconds — pick any two used to be the rule. The inline-six ignores it: 429 hp, 560 Nm, an electric compressor covering the gap before the turbo arrives. Nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT, 4MATIC+.
🛋 The door is the moment. Outside, white with Night-package black on 22s. Open it — scarlet semi-aniline Nappa with massage, ventilation and comfort headrests, heated rear bench, Burmester, head-up display, panoramic roof. Cupholders that chill a bottle of water in summer.

⏳ The full bid leaves your card the moment you place it. The vehicle must not yet be registered in Cyprus. And from the close of the auction you have four months to register it, however long shipping takes.
💶 Thirty minutes after bidding closes, the numbers nobody won go on sale at a flat €100.

We compared all four triple-letter series that have been auctioned by the Road Transport Department. The top plate in each series:
MMM — €3,100 (MMM 001)
NNN — €4,285 (NNN 001)
PPP — €15,000 (PPP 777), still the record

Of the 996 numbers in each series, only 84 to 144 drew a bid at all. The real contest is for a handful of plates.

🇨🇾 CyStat published the September figures today: 23,635 used passenger vehicles registered since January — the highest January–September total in records going back to 2002. The previous high had stood since 2008.
⚙️ Used imports up 21.1%. New registrations down 10.9%, their lowest since 2022. Seven in every ten vehicles registered in Cyprus this year already had an owner — a year ago it was six.
🛋 September alone added 3,059 used registrations, the second-highest month in the whole series. Only June 2026 stands above it. The full breakdown, with the chart, is in the article.

🇯🇵 Japanese auctions are full of well-kept electric vehicles at hammer prices that sometimes embarrass anything for sale in Cyprus. Some really are bargains. Many are not — and the difference is invisible on the auction sheet.
⚙️ The big one: Japan fast-charges on CHAdeMO, Cyprus on CCS2 — every new fast charger on the island speaks a plug the vehicle doesn’t have. European brands fitted CHAdeMO to their Japan-market vehicles too, so the badge is no protection.
🛋 The other seven checks cover the adapter question, AC charging speed, battery warranty and measured battery health, software region, head-unit updates and what the vehicle will be worth here later. We run all eight before bidding on any EV in Japan. If one fails, the cheaper price usually stops being cheaper.
