“The foreign policy of the US should be that our friends love us, our rivals respect us and our enemies fear us. Instead, our friends fear our self-immolation while our rivals consume us and our enemies fire upon us without consequence.” — @realErikDPrince

“Exceptionally beautiful men are sometimes reduced to their beauty to the detriment of the deeper aspects of their character. Together with the flashes the world retains of Delon’s glamour — the starlets and the style of the 1960s — it is important to remember that he was also shaped by scars…” — @AvetisMuradyan
"Ultimately, the only thing that will save our country and our children is if we choose to love our kids more than we hate each other. That’s why I launched my campaign, to unify America. My dad and uncle made such an enduring mark on the character of our nation, not so much because of any particular policies that they promoted, but because they were able to inspire profound love for our country and to fortify our sense of ourselves as a national community held together by ideals. They were able to put their love into the intentions and hearts of ordinary Americans and to unify a national populist movement of Americans blacks and whites, Hispanics, urban and rural Americans. They inspired affection, love, and high hopes, and a culture of kindness that continued to radiate among Americans from their memory. That’s the spirit on which I ran my campaign and that I intend to bring into the campaign of President Trump."
NEW: "What had been designed to guard against fascism and communism morphed into something that threatened not only the liberties it was meant to protect, but the ability to even conceptualize them." —@realhumanschwab on the evolution of National Security:

"Al-Qaeda did not threaten our freedom or way of life on 9/11, but merely spectacularly manifested the same inner tensions that lay under the surface in our own society: the terrorism of meaninglessness in the face of modernity..."

"For the past 3 years I've been prosecuted for ‘election interference’ after posting a meme in 2016 about voting by text. The case was never about a meme; it was a test to see just how far the regime could push a lawfare scheme aimed at silencing dissent."

“Trump’s stunning landslide victory included a victory in the popular vote and left MAGA in control of all three branches of government. If the preposterous candidacy of Kamala Harris wasn’t symbolic enough, the late reappearance of Barack Obama looking charmless and drained drove the point home: out of ideas, out of energy, there is no longer anything left in the tank of the once mighty movement of liberal progressivism which began as a fever dream and quickly revealed itself as a racket. Now it’s a shell, soon to be gone with the wind.

The contrast with MAGA could not be more striking. Beginning with his glaring mugshot, moving through his clenched fist of defiance, and concluding with his cheerful tableau serving fast food in a drive-thru, at some point in the last six months Trump achieved apotheosis. He is no longer simply a man, but the iconic embodiment of the American genius in all of its multitudes.

Trump’s victory was not only political but spiritual, and not just for him. This week’s electoral success was the culmination of millions of successful battles fought across the nation, and the world, and in the soul of every man. What was rejected was the politics of madness, lies, and fear. What all this finally added up to was the mobilization of a new coalition of the American spirit, in all its resolve and audacity…”
If you still credit mainstream media news sources and the recent US election results have come as a shock to you, this thread is for you.

Ever since we launched the project in September 2020, amidst lockdowns and riots, we have been constantly analyzing the shape of the contemporary regime in an attempt to understand its logic.

Maybe you'll instinctively feel compelled to disagree with much of this, but we believe that if you read it with an open mind you'd be surprised about how much we got right.

What follows are some of the most important and thought-provoking pieces we published over the past 4 years 🧵
