Tragic: Yossi Meir (59), father of rescued hostage Almog Meir, was found dead in his apartment when Israeli officials arrived to inform him of his son's liberation from Hamas captivity.

Yossi had been sick for some time, and had died just a couple hours before Almog was set free in Saturday's daring rescue operation.

Thousands gathered this afternoon to accompanying fallen national hero Arnon Zemora (36) on his final journey.

It is always Israel's best sons who sacrifice their lives in war. Arnon was buried at Mount Herzl National Cemetery in Jerusalem.

A man from Gaza with nothing left to lose addresses Hamas openly:

"I have a short message for the Hamas leadership.

"Have mercy on us and leave the Gaza Strip. Enough.

"Whoever wants to call me a collaborator, go ahead.

"Enough with the pain and suffering. Leave us alone. Even Abu Amar (Yasser Arafat) behaved like that and left and gave his people peace.

"Where are you trying to lead us with your madness? ENOUGH!"

Israel is not the enemy of the people in Gaza. Hamas is the real enemy.

Danny Danon will return as Israel's ambassador to the United Nations.

Danon on more than one occasion quoted Scripture and pulled out a Bible as the ultimate evidence of Israel's legitimacy and right to the land.

Hamas also insisted that it would now not agree to release any more Israeli hostages until jailed Palestinian terrorists are first released by Israel.

According to reports from the Gaza Strip, Noa Argamani was held captive in the home of an Al-Jazeera journalist and his father, a local doctor.
CORRECTION: The IDF is now saying that Abdallah Aljamal held the three male hostages–Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv–in his family home in Nusseirat.

Noa Argamani was held in a different family home nearby.

Al Jazeera is trying hard to distance itself from Aljamal, but as you can see above, until recently he had a profile page on their website.

Gen. Avi Rosenfeld, commander of the IDF's Gaza Division, announced his resignation today.

"It was my mission to protect the Gaza periphery, and on October 7, I failed in that mission," he wrote in his resignation letter.

The Oct. 7 attack highlights that there are no "experts," there are no officials who know better than everyone else.

Everyone missed this, even the people who should have known better than anyone else.

At least some are taking responsibility for that failure.

Benny Gantz has pulled his National Camp party out of Netanyahu's emergency unity government, and called for elections in the Autumn.

Netanyahu responds to Gantz: "Israel is in an existential war on several fronts. Benny, this is not the time to abandon the campaign - this is the time to unite. My door will remain open to any Zionist party that is ready to help bring victory over our enemies."

Netanyahu's government will not fall as a result of Gantz leaving. His coalition still holds a 64-seat majority in the Knesset.

Yesterday, Lebanese terrorists operating out of the coastal city of Tyre fired anti-aircraft missiles in an attempt to bring down Israeli aircraft.

There was never any real threat to the Israeli Air Force planes, and they immediately destroyed the terrorist cell in question.

But needless to say, it would be a major "victory" for these terrorists to actually shoot down an Israeli fighter jet, and they will no doubt continue trying.

This is what Egypt did not want the world to see. Terror and smuggling tunnels beneath Rafah and the Egyptian border. Literal highways.

These tunnels were used to smuggle rockets from the Sinai into the Gaza Strip. Cars and even trucks can drive through them.

Israel has exposed around 70 tunnels of various sizes, all leading from the Gaza Strip to Egypt.
