Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron in a joint statement with the support of numerous heads of state: "Call for an immediate 21-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah." The two presidents released a statement saying: "The situation between Lebanon and Israel since October 8 has become unbearable."

In addition to the US and France, 9 other countries and the European Union have signed the statement. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is on his way to the UN General Assembly while the two presidents released the statement. A senior White House official said they would work to reach an agreement along the border between Israel and Lebanon.

Agreeing to a ceasefire with Lebanon and Hezbollah now is a fatal mistake from Israel's point of view.
Frustration and anger in Israel this morning.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly given a green light for a temporary ceasefire with Hezbollah for the duration of US-led negotiations.

Hezbollah knows how to play this game, and the negotiations could drag on for months.

Meanwhile, northern Israel remains uninhabitable under an ongoing terrorist threat.

Netanyahu promised that negotiations would only take place under fire, and that the war would only conclude when it was finally safe for the residents of the north to return home.

The people of Israel are looking to the prime minister to keep his word.

Now the prime minister's government office is saying the opposite: "The report about a ceasefire is incorrect. It is an American-French proposal to which Israel's prime minister has not even responded."

"The report about an alleged order to moderate the fighting in the north is also the opposite of the truth. The Prime Minister has ordered the IDF to continue fighting at full force, according to the plans presented to him."

"Similarly, the fighting in Gaza will continue until all the war aims are achieved".
Nevertheless, questions remain unanswered:

Why did Hezbollah cease fire from 3:30 p.m. yesterday until late this morning?

Why did high-ranking members of the government discuss the need for a ceasefire?

Why did the statement not say "And Israel will not agree to a ceasefire", but simply that no Israeli response to the proposal has yet been given?

Everything is in a fog.
One question, does anyone remember Russia ever being forced into a treaty or ceasefire agreement - as is now being forced on Israel?
Israel's Chief of Staff is against a ceasefire: "We must continue to attack Hezbollah. We have been waiting for this opportunity for years. We are constantly working to achieve success, eliminate more high-ranking members, prevent the transfer of weapons, weaken Hezbollah's firepower and attack it in all areas of Lebanon."

The IDF today eliminated Hezbollah "air force" commander Muhammad Hossein Sarur in a targeted strike in southern Beirut.

Following the hit, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted:

"We speak with actions, not words."

Is Israel losing China?

Israel views its relationship with China as strategically important, given that the American government doesn't always have Israel's best interests at heart (depending on who is president).

But China has made very clear recently that it stands with the Palestinians and Lebanon in their conflicts with Israel.

Beijing hosted Hamas delegations earlier in the war.

And on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressed: "No matter what happens, we will always stand by Lebanon."

He failed to mention that Hezbollah, a recognized terrorist organization, uses Lebanon to launch attacks on Israel.
Another rocket alert in the center of Israel

According to reports, a rocket has been repelled by the Chetz (Arrow) defense system. The rocket is said to have come from Yemen.

Lebanon's foreign minister pleads for international intervention to save his nation.

But one must wonder - where was he for the past 11 months while a heavily-armed terrorist militia used Lebanon to launch attacks on a neighboring state?

Hezbollah increases the rate of fire on Israel's north: Incessant rocket fire on Haifa and Tiberias.

Massive shelling from Yemen will soon follow: The Huthis have set their sights on Israel's lifeline.

A military source in Sanaa told the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar that Yemen's official entry into the conflict with Israel is only a matter of time, given Hezbollah's great military capabilities in Lebanon.
