Is the Biden administration delusional? Because this proposal is delusional.

1️⃣ If the IDF withdraws from Gaza, there's no guarantee Hamas will free the hostages, at least not without *major* additional concessions by Israel.

2️⃣ If the IDF withdraws from Gaza, who will disarm Hamas and make sure it gives up power? Hamas isn't going to voluntarily hand over the reins and lay down its arms.

3️⃣ No Israeli government can survive if it commits to a Palestinian state. The overwhelming majority of Israelis oppose this after October 7.

4️⃣ There is no diplomatic solution with Hezbollah. It's been tried. It failed. Hezbollah exists solely to destroy Israel. It will never abandon this agenda.

5️⃣ Eighteen years ago, America "guaranteed" Gaza wouldn't become a problem if Israel withdrew and handed it entirely over to the Palestinians. Israelis no longer believe American "guarantees."

All the holes in its proposal notwithstanding, the Biden admin thinks it can dupe or compel Israel to accept the deal by dangling the giant carrot of normalization with Saudi Arabia.

But nearly all Israeli leaders have stated they will not capitulate to the Palestinians in exchange for peace with the Saudis.

And, they also know that they probably don't have to...

Chances are high that a year from now Donald Trump will be back in the White House, and Israelis expect he'll compel Saudi Arabia to normalize relations with Israel even in the absence of a Palestinian state.

The Guardian: Spain and Ireland have decided to announce plans to officially recognize a "State of Palestine." Ireland could so so as early as today.

American officials quoted by Politico claim that only 35% of Hamas forces in Gaza have been eliminated, and that 65% of the terror group's tunnel system remains intact.

In Israel this is seen as yet another effort by the Biden White House to discourage the Jewish state and compel it to end the war.

But the Americans have miscalculated.

The IDF has already alerted Israelis that the overall war (including the northern front) could last into 2026. And most Israelis are determined to see the enemy defeated, regardless how long it takes.

The Biden Admin's previous effort to shame or scare Israel into ending the war centered on Rafah, which the Americans claimed couldn't be operated against without causing a massive humanitarian crisis.

They also pointed to the rising food crisis in Gaza.

Israel has since solved both problems.

Nearly 1 million civilians have been successfully and safely evacuated from Rafah, and the import of Israeli goods to Gaza markets has seen a steep decline in prices.

Maybe the US should let Israel run the show...? 🤔

Norway recognizes Palestine.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store announced this morning that as of May 28, Norway will officially recognize the "State of Palestine."

Spain and Ireland are expected to make similar announcements today.

So much for the Western mantra that the conflict must be resolved via direct negotiations between the involved parties...

There could be no greater reward for Palestinian terrorist violence than to recognize a Palestinian state.

That's what the terror has been about all along.

And guess what? This is going to encourage a lot more terror, which will lead to a lot more war.

Very short-sighted, Europe.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant today officially notified the heads of the Jewish settler movement that the "disengagement law" that led to the forced evacuation of Jews from northern Samaria in 2005 has been cancelled.

Gallant said the move would result in increased Israeli settlement activity and greater security for Jews living in Judea and Samaria.

It is also meant to put a real Palestinian state further out of reach.
