Benny Gantz and the National Camp party categorically oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state in the short-term, even in exchange for normalization with Saudi Arabia.

That was the message minister-without-portfolio Chili Tropper sought to reiterated in remarks to Army Radio.

Tropper noted that just a few weeks ago, Gantz joined Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in introducing a motion in Knesset against a Palestinian state.

---

There is almost zero support in Israel at this time for a Palestinian state.

As Israeli analysts noted last month, any foreign mediator thinking that now is the time to push for a two-state solution is utterly delusional.

Army Radio reports that the Biden administration has put forward to Israel another delusional proposal. Let's take a look at its main points and why they won't work...
๐Ÿ™135
End the war...

Israel will agree to end the Gaza war in exchange for the release of all hostages.

But, Hamas has insisted that under such an agreement, the full withdrawal of Israeli forces comes first, and only then the negotiated release of hostages.

This means many more weeks of captivity for the hostages.

It also means all military pressure will be removed from Hamas, so Israel will have to take the word of these unrepentant terrorists that they'll actually free the captives.
๐Ÿ™172
Palestinian state

Israel will commit itself to the near-term establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

In the aftermath of October 7, almost no Israelis support this, meaning no Israeli government would survive if it adopted this position.
๐Ÿ™169
Gaza's "day after"

Israel will help develop a mechanism for governing Gaza following the war that is not IDF military administration or a Hamas regime.

This might be the most delusional point of all.

If the IDF withdraws from Gaza, who will force Hamas out of power?

Do the Americans think Hamas will willingly relinquish control of the territory?
๐Ÿ™166
American "guarantees"

Washington will expand the "security envelope" to protect Israel from Iran.

Most of us remember when America "guaranteed" Gaza wouldn't become a security threat if Israel pulled out of the territory and handed it over entirely to the Palestinians.

These "guarantees" no longer mean as much to Israelis as they once did.
๐Ÿ™176
Peace for the north

America will push harder for a diplomatic solution to the conflict with Hezbollah so that life in northern Israel can return to normal.

The Biden administration still suffers from the misconception that Israel's foes are pragmatic in the Western sense.

They still fail to understand this is a religious war.

Hezbollah exists for the sole purpose of destroying Israel. It won't, nor can it ever abandon that agenda.
๐Ÿ™162
But, but... Saudi Arabia!

The Americans hope that Israelis will be duped into agreeing to all the above by the prospect of normalization with Saudi Arabia.

Peace with the Saudis is indeed desirable to most Israelis, but after Oct. 7 very few are willing to any longer take mortal risks for peace.

Most of Israel's leaders have in the past 48 hours rejected the notion of exchanging a Palestinian state for peace with Saudi Arabia, including the darling of the Biden administration, War Cabinet minister Benny Gantz.

That's likely because most Israeli leaders understand that there's a good chance Donald Trump will soon return to the White House, and they'll then get peace with the Saudis without a Palestinian state.

Incredible footage of an IDF drone discovering a squad of armed terrorists waiting to ambush Israeli troops in the alleys of Tulkarem in western Samaria.

They try but fail to down the drone with bullets and stones.

The information was quickly relayed to another drone at a higher altitude, which in turn gave targeting data to Israeli forces.

The terrorists were eliminated without any harm to Israeli troops.

These drones save lives. Period.

And thanks to our Israel Today readers, we have been able to provide several such drones to Israeli special forces units during the course of the war.

For those who still think most Gazans are "innocent bystanders."

They don't understand that for 17 years, Hamas has done its job well, brainwashing an entire generation to hate Jews and seek a violent death in confrontation with Israel.

Covid vaccine side effects not properly documented

Israel's State Comptroller on Tuesday issued a report criticizing the Ministry of Health's handling of public reports of side effects from the Covid-19 vaccine.

Over 33,000 reports of side effects were received through an online system, but were not fully integrated into the data used to determine Israel's handling of the pandemic.

Ministry of Health responds: We did consider the reported side effects, and Israel was the first to publicly report on the main Covid-19 vaccine side effect - inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis).

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in response to the ICC prosecutor seeking an arrest warrant against him:

โ€œIsrael is fighting a just war against a brutal terrorist organization - Hamas.

"Even in facing a cynical enemy, Israel abides by international humanitarian law, and maintains professional and moral standards.

"We are fighting for the hostages.

"We are fighting for our lives.

"We are fighting for our future.โ€

The UN Security Council stood for a minute of silence in honor of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash.

Do you think they'd ever do the same for Donald Trump?
Anonymous Poll

Of course, it's a demonstration of respect
90%
No way, it's a clear double standard

๐Ÿ‘†And keep in mind, Raisi is known as the "Butcher of Tehran" for his brutal treatment of Iranian dissidents and those who violate the Islamic Republic's moral codes.

He's believed to be directly responsible for the execution of tens of thousands of people.

And even America's UN rep stood to honor him...
