Biden: Ceasefire would begin tomorrow if Hamas freed the hostages.

Hamas today rejected Biden’s remarks as a departure to what American mediators had been telling them earlier in the month.

Makes you wonder what kind of promises the Biden admin was making behind Israel’s back.

Fortunately, God is not mocked, and the schemes of man are as nothing before Him.

The UN has finally, after 7 months, admitted that the Hamas-supplied death toll in Gaza is faulty, and that far fewer children have died than has been reported until now.

This is nothing short of willful deceit.

The UN knew full well the outrage and anger those original faulty numbers would cause, and it knew they couldn't and shouldn't be entirely trusted.

But the UN legitimized and reported them anyway.

And now it wants to excuse itself by shrugging its shoulders.

πŸ‘†In short, if you don't know a thing, then don't talk about it as if you do. Keep your mouth shut.

The UN for months spoke authoritatively of the Gaza death toll. But if the "fog of war" was preventing them from gathering real evidence and numbers, why speak with such certainty?

The memorial service at the Jerusalem High School Gymnasia Rehavia, where two of our sons studied until their military service. Eight former students of the high school have died in and around the Gaza Strip in the last seven months. Three former students were murdered at the Nova music festival and Tamar Kedem was murdered with her entire family, husband and three children in Kibbutz Nir Oz.

In the 105 years of the high school, 160 students were killed, including Joni Netanyahu (brother of) in Operation Entebbe in 1976 and was a student there.

Since our sons studied there, we have attended the memorial service at the school every year. Today we also met the former principal David Gal, whose son Michael Gal was killed in the Gaza Strip in March.

Germany's Ministry of Justice has reportedly outlawed the use of the phrase "From the River to the Sea."

The Germans determined that this is a Hamas slogan, and since Hamas is an outlawed terrorist organization, public use of the phrase can be considered hate speech and advocacy for terrorism.

Israelis opposed to the transfer of aid to Gaza (ie. supplies to Hamas) stopped, unloaded and then set on fire aid trucks passing through southern Israel today.

Polls show most Israelis oppose aid to Gaza so long as Hamas remains active there.

That is especially true of IDF reservists who have fought in Gaza in recent months.

Today, the State of Israel celebrates its 76th birthday.

From Herzl to Bibi, the restoration of Israel has always been accompanied by struggle and adversity.

But this year is different, because we celebrate in the midst of war.

Even as many of us get together with friends and family for afternoon barbecues, our fathers, brothers and sons are still on the ground in Gaza, or battling Hezbollah on the northern border.

So there were no fireworks last night, and no air show this morning.

Israel celebrates, but it is muted, because the battle for survival, the war for independence is clearly not over.
