Hamas has reportedly offered to release all Israeli hostages in exchange for:

1. An immediate end to the Gaza war

2. Withdrawal of all Israeli troops from Gaza

3. International guarantees that Hamas retains control of Gaza

4. The release of all jailed Hamas terrorists, including those who took part in the October 7 massacre

The Wall Street Journal reports that the Biden administration is pushing a phased process to bring the Gaza war to an end.

The deal would see Israeli hostages released in stages, followed by the withdrawal of Israeli forces. Hamas would survive, and apparently remain in control of Gaza.

A few hours later, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a video message in which he rejected any form of surrender on Israel's part.

The people of Israel demand total victory, as promised by their leaders.

They are preconditions that must be met before Hamas will even begin negotiating the release of Israeli hostages.
