It was a false alarm

An Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. official tells Al Jazeera that Hamas will be supplied with anti-aircraft systems in the future to deal with Israeli airstrikes.

Another reason why Hamas must be defeated and eliminated now.

American media is suggesting that Netanyahu might go to war in Lebanon for his own political survival. (Channel 12)

This is a gross mischaracterization of the situation.

Whatever Netanyahu's personal motivations, the fact is that some 80,000 Israelis can't return home because Hezbollah is effectively holding northern Israel hostage.

After October 7, no Israeli is willing to live with a heavily-armed terrorist organization bent on the Jewish state's destruction just on the other side of the border.

We now know what they are capable of.

All of Israel is united in its insistence that Hezbollah must be pushed north of the Litani River, if not removed entirely as a threat.

Pressure is building on Israel to simply accept the new reality, even if Western leaders are not saying as much, yet.

But it is a situation that cannot be accepted.

At present, Israel has effectively lost the Upper Galilee. That is an outcome no Israeli government can live with.

It's getting less attention than the war in Gaza, but the IDF is fully at war with the Palestinian terrorist infrastructure in Judea and Samaria, too.

There was a car-ramming terror attack in northern Jerusalem this afternoon.

A Palestinian man and woman drove their vehicle into a female Border Police officer, who was lightly wounded.

Other officers at the scene opened fire, neutralizing the terrorists. But they inadvertently also hit and wounded a Palestinian girl in another vehicle.

The IDF carried out strikes on numerous Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon overnight.

IDF officials say the ongoing strikes have succeeded in pushing Hezbollah forces back a short distance from the border.

But UN Security Council Resolution 1701 stipulates that Hezbollah be entirely redeployed to north of the Litani River.

A 1-2 kilometer buffer zone is not going to satisfy the residents of northern Israel. Not after what Hamas succeeded in doing on October 7.

Hezbollah officials are reportedly very upset by yesterday's cyber attack at the Beirut airport 👆

So much so that they will hold a special press conference and possibly and investigation.

It is still unclear who pulled this stunt.

Some fingers were pointed at a new Christian group known as the "Soldiers of God," which has vehemently denied any involvement.

The Soldiers of God first gained attention in 2020, when they disrupted an LGBT event in Beirut.

The results of American pressure.

Ahead of a visit to Israel by Secretary of State Antony Blinken of the U.S., which has urged Israel to do more to avoid civilian casualties, Gallant indicated Israeli forces would be shifting from what he called the “intense maneuvering phase of the war” toward “different types of special operations.”

This is not going to be popular with the Israeli public at large.

Groups of reservists and of families whose loved ones have fallen fighting in Gaza have already sent several letters to the Prime Minister demanding all-out war until victory.

Netanyahu promised that Hamas would be no more. Israelis expect that goal to be achieved, and are ready to fight for it.

Hamas is making bank on humanitarian aid.

Lots of supplies are entering Gaza as humanitarian aid, meaning it should go to the people in need, free of charge.

It's not.

As Israel said would happen, Hamas is stealing it all, and then selling it to those in need at exorbitant prices.

For example, Palestinian social media channels listed the prices for a refugee tent in Rafah on the southern Gaza border.

A fully-ready tent supplied by Qatar - 500 euros

A tent from the UAE (guess they are a little better?) - 700 euros

If those prices are too steep (and for most Gazans, they are), refugees can buy the parts and build their own tent:

Wooden beam - 7.5 euros (the average tent requires about 20 beams to construct in a stable manner)

Nylon covering - 10 euros per square meter (takes about 24 square meters for an average tent)

Is this what the international community had in mind when it pushed for aid to Gaza? And if not, why isn't it doing anything about the situation?!
