Hamas confirms the assassination of Saleh al-Arouri, one of its senior politburo officials, in Beirut, along with two other high-ranking Hamas leaders.
Israeli media speculates that one of those other two is Osama Hamdan, who in addition to other activities acted as Hamas's foreign spokesman during the current war.
Israeli government ministers have been forbidden to speak with the media regarding this development.
Israelis living in towns up to 30 kilometers from the Lebanon border have been warned to sleep in close proximity to a bomb shelter.

Confirmed dead in the strike on Beirut:
Saleh al-Arouri - senior Hamas politburo official, director of terrorism in Judea and Samaria in recent years, and one of the architects of October 7
Khalil al-Hayya - senior politburo official and member of the Palestinian Parliament, and deputy to Gaza-based Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar
Suspected eliminations:
Osama Hamdan - senior Hamas politburo official and spokesman for the terror group
Abu Amar - head of Hamas forces in southern Lebanon
It seems Israel might have eliminated the entire senior Hamas leadership in Lebanon in a single strike.

It was a relatively quiet night considering the events of yesterday evening.
But Israel remains on highest alert for a major escalation on the northern border.
Hamas is eager for payback after Israel eliminated several of its top officials in Lebanon. But Hamas forces in Lebanon are relatively meager, and it is unable to do much from the Gaza Strip.
Will Hezbollah comes to Hamas's aid and retaliate on behalf of the Palestinian terrorists?
The coming hours and days are critical.

A few days ago a terror tunnel was discovered west of Hebron, near the Jewish community of Telem in Judea.
The Israeli soldier tells how Jewish "settlers" had warned about a noise coming from the earth for some time, but no one took them seriously.
Now, a tunnel shaft has been discovered near them in the garden of a Palestinian home.
Work on the tunnel halted due to the war, which has included a crackdown on terrorist activity in Judea and Samaria.
Hamas chief Saleh al-Arouri, eliminated in Beirut yesterday, was responsible for building the terrorist infrastructure in the biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria.
If there's one tunnel, there are guaranteed to be many more.

Iran reports at least 20 dead in a series of explosions at the grave of assassinated Revolutionary Guard chief Qasem Soleimani.
Today is the anniversary of Soleimani's death. He was assassinated by US forces, with possible Israeli participation, in Baghdad on January 3, 2020.

103 dead in the bombing at Qasem Soleimani's grave, according to Iranian media.
There is concern in Israel that the Iranian regime will use this as an excuse to attack Israel, probably from Syria or Lebanon.

Gazans out of Gaza?
France and the US condemned far-right Israeli government ministers for publicly advocating the voluntary emigration of Palestinians from Gaza.
But Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed this week that Israel is in talks with nations in Africa and the Middle East on the possibility of absorbing thousands of Gazans after the war.
And, as Economy Minister Bezalel Smotrich noted, over 70% of Israelis support the idea of encouraging voluntary emigration. As he noted, Israelis no longer want to live next to "two million people who wake up every morning with the desire to destroy the State of Israel."
