Senior Hamas official Saleh al-Arouri was killed in an explosion in Beirut, Lebanon this evening.

Local media reported that Israeli jets had been buzzing the city in the early evening, and then a loud explosion was heard in the southern party of the Lebanese capital.

Al-Arouri was one of the most senior members of Hamas's "political" wing, and also had a hand in both the Gaza invasion of southern Israel and Hamas terrorist activity in Judea and Samaria.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened back in October to eliminate al-Arouri and other top Hamas officials abroad.

IDF reservists and government ministers protested outside the Prime Minister's Office today demanding that Netanyahu stand up to American pressure and continue the war against Hamas in Gaza until victory.

Hamas confirms the assassination of Saleh al-Arouri, one of its senior politburo officials, in Beirut, along with two other high-ranking Hamas leaders.

Israeli media speculates that one of those other two is Osama Hamdan, who in addition to other activities acted as Hamas's foreign spokesman during the current war.

Israeli government ministers have been forbidden to speak with the media regarding this development.

Israelis living in towns up to 30 kilometers from the Lebanon border have been warned to sleep in close proximity to a bomb shelter.

What appears to be security camera footage from across the street of yesterday's surgical strike on a third-floor apartment in Beirut that killed Saleh al-Arouri and other senior Hamas officials.

A few days ago a terror tunnel was discovered west of Hebron, near the Jewish community of Telem in Judea.

The Israeli soldier tells how Jewish "settlers" had warned about a noise coming from the earth for some time, but no one took them seriously.

Now, a tunnel shaft has been discovered near them in the garden of a Palestinian home.

Work on the tunnel halted due to the war, which has included a crackdown on terrorist activity in Judea and Samaria.

Hamas chief Saleh al-Arouri, eliminated in Beirut yesterday, was responsible for building the terrorist infrastructure in the biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria.

If there's one tunnel, there are guaranteed to be many more.
