The Jerusalem District Court has issued a temporary injunction against Internal Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s plan to surround a wing of Ketziot Prison with Nile crocodiles.

Ketziot Prison is located in the Negev Desert, and is currently holding numerous captured Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists who took part in the Oct. 7, 2023 massacre.

But animal rights groups and the Israel Parks Authority argued that the Negev is not the crocodiles’ natural habitat and there is inadequate infrastructure and professional oversight to care for the animals.

“For God’s sake, let them leave!”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the people of Gaza must be allowed to leave voluntarily, adding that the only other place on earth from which citizens are not permitted to emigrate is North Korea.

The majority of Gazans, between 50% to 80%, wish to leave the Strip, Netanyahu said during a podcast interview with Israeli historian and media personality Gadi Taub.

“For God’s sake, open the door, let them leave! The countries [say], ‘No, no, we will not accept them so as not to help Israel.’ What about helping the Gazans? Why don’t they have the right granted to billions of people around the world, to move from place to place?” said Netanyahu.
