Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met in Ankara this week with a Hamas delegation led by the terrorist organization’s newly elected leader, Khalil al-Hayya.

Fidan reportedly congratulated al-Hayya on his new position, telling the Hamas delegation that Ankara would continue its support for Gaza, and expressing his “appreciation” for the role Hamas has played in peace efforts.

Destroying Hamas and encouraging the emigration of Palestinians is “the only solution in Gaza that Israel is prepared to be a partner in,” National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said on Thursday.

“With the devil, whose banner is our destruction, you do not commit to stopping the elimination of terrorists, and you do not sign agreements,” Ben-Gvir added.

Canada’s condemnation of Israel emboldens Palestinian terrorism, the Israeli Foreign Ministry warned.

“A wave of Palestinian terrorism is sweeping Judea and Samaria. Israelis are being murdered and wounded by Palestinian terrorists. Yet Canada’s response is not to focus on the terrorists or those who glorify and encourage them, but to condemn Israel,” the ministry tweeted.

Trump says an agreement has been reached to fully disarm Hamas in Gaza.

Trump called the deal “historic” and a major milestone in implementing his vision for the coastal enclave.

Israeli forces are supposed to withdraw from Gaza in stages as the disarmament progresses.

Neither Israel nor Hamas have commented officially on Trump’s announcement.

Point of concern: According to Israeli media reports, the agreed-upon disarmament will see Hamas’s weapons transferred to storage facilities in Gaza under the supervision of the incoming Palestinian technocratic government.

The Israel Defense Forces destroyed terror tunnels in the Beaufort area of Southern Lebanon, which Hezbollah planned to use to invade communities in the Galilee, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday.

“The tunnels were blown up using approximately 700 tons of explosives, as part of the IDF’s systematic operation to destroy all of Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure in southern Lebanon,” Netanyahu stated.

A Hamas official confirms to Al Jazeera that the group agreed to disarm.

BUT... he insisted it would do so only after Israeli forces had fully withdrawn from the Gaza Strip.

This is the opposite of Israel’s understanding of the agreement, according to which the IDF will leave Gaza only after Hamas has disarmed.

The Israel Defense Forces this week killed a commander from the Kataeb al-Mujahideen terrorist group in the southern Gaza Strip who took part in the abduction of Israeli hostages Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or during the Hamas-led invasion of the northwestern Negev on Oct. 7, 2023.

Terrorist Ahmed Hussein Mohammed Kafina, in charge of the central Gaza area for the group, also directed the abduction of Sudthisak Rinthalak, a 43-year-old Thai farm worker who was murdered in Kibbutz Be’eri on Oct. 7 and whose body was taken into Gaza.

Iranian state media reports that contrary to Trump's announcement, there is no agreement to open the Strait of Hormuz or halt Iran's nuclear program.
