US Marines seized control of an Iranian-flagged ship attempting to break the US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz yesterday.

Colombia’s president-elect, Abelardo de la Espriella, is withdrawing his country’s support for South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, a move confirmed by Israel’s Foreign Ministry on Friday.

The announcement followed a meeting in Washington on Wednesday between Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Colombia’s incoming foreign minister, Omar Bula.

Israel Today contributor Edy Cohen has been named to Iran’s official list of “enemy entities.”

The list does more than identify journalists, analysts and organizations Tehran considers hostile. It also warns Iranians of severe punishment for anyone accused of communicating or “collaborating” with them.

In trying to intimidate its own people, the regime has exposed something far more revealing: its fear of independent voices, uncontrolled information and anyone capable of challenging its narrative.

A CONVENIENT DOUBLE STANDARD

Tehran says any country hosting American forces participating in attacks on Iran becomes a legitimate target.

That's a remarkably familiar principle.

For years, Israel has argued that territories used by Hamas or Hezbollah to launch attacks cannot expect immunity while those attacks continue.

Yet when Israel strikes Hamas in Gaza or Hezbollah in Lebanon, critics often dismiss that logic as "collective punishment," insisting the host territory bears no responsibility for armed groups operating from within it.

If the principle is considered valid when Iran invokes it, why is it rejected when Israel does? The standard shouldn't change depending on who's making the argument.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani signaled he will arrest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if local laws allow him to.

“Whatever the law allows me to do in New York City, that’s what we will do,” Mamdani told The New York Times. “I believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu belongs in the Hague. He is a war criminal.”

Netanyahu is scheduled to visit New York in September for the UN General Assembly.

Eighth straight night of renewed US strikes on Iran

Trump recently said he’d need to take control of the Strait of Hormuz, and these waves of US attacks appear to be preparing the battlefield for the necessary escalation.

In particular, Bandar Abbas, Iran’s strategic gateway to Hormuz, is being isolated with the bombing of roads, supply lines, and local defenses.

Just as important: Iran’s retaliation has so far avoided Israel.

Tehran understands that striking Israel would immediately expand the war. The Israeli Air Force would enter the campaign alongside American air and naval forces, effectively doubling the pressure on Iran overnight.

So Iran is trying to hit back without triggering the one escalation it may not be able to absorb.

The question now is whether Washington is still signaling — or already shaping the ground for the next phase.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, like so many Israelis, is not hiding his preference for Argentina to win the World Cup final tonight.

Trump wants Israel out of Lebanon and Syria.

But Israelis have heard this promise before: withdraw, trust the guarantees, and hope someone else restrains Iran’s proxies.

After Oct. 7, that formula is dead.

Israel does not need another diplomatic theory. It needs secure borders, disarmed enemies, and proof on the ground.

A withdrawal that leaves Hezbollah and Iran-backed militias intact is not peace.

It is preparation for the next war.

Iranian missile launch detected toward the Red Sea resort town of Aqaba in Jordan.

Sirens might sound in southern Israel given the close proximity of Aqaba.

Shrapnel fell in an open area in Eilat earlier this afternoon after an Iranian missile targeting the nearby Jordanian resort town Aqaba was intercepted.

US forces carried out a ninth straight night of strikes against regime targets in Iran.

Iran says Jordan helped it attack US base

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard issued a statement thanking Jordanian soldiers for their “cooperation and precise intelligence” enabling Iranian forces to hit an American base in Jordan a day earlier. Two US soldiers were killed in that attack.

Israeli forces entered the Palestinian village of Deir Jarir in Samaria early this morning to protect a group of Israeli civilians searching for livestock that had been stolen from them by Palestinian thieves.

Locals hurled stones and cinderblocks at the soldiers, who returned fire. Two Palestinians were reportedly killed in the clash.

The Palestinians are framing Spain’s World Cup victory as a defeat for Israel.

Basem Naim, a leading Hamas representative, wrote:

"We congratulate Spain on its well-deserved victory at the World Cup and congratulate Palestine and its supporters on their joy. Even if this victory only serves to anger the Zionists and their allies, that is reason enough for us."

Argentina was the favored team for most Israelis, and the Spanish government’s antagonism toward Israel over the past three years is well known.

In Britain, the narrative war over Oct. 7 began almost before Israel had counted its dead.

Two days after Hamas’s massacre, crowds were already marching in London and other UK cities. Some did not recoil from the slaughter. They celebrated “resistance.”

Since then, much of Britain’s anti-Israel discourse has moved from denial to inversion: Hamas fades from the story, Israel becomes the villain, and Jews are pressured to condemn Zionism before they are allowed into polite society.

This is not just a media problem. It is a warning about where Western antisemitism is headed.
