Israeli security forces have arrested two suspects following the discovery of a tunnel near the A-Za’im crossing, a major security checkpoint east of Jerusalem connecting the capital with Judea and Samaria and the city of Ma’ale Adumim.

Israeli security forces operating in Judea and Samaria launched a large-scale counterterrorism operation in the area of Bethlehem.

As part of the operation, the forces searched approximately 50 structures and apprehended 19 wanted individuals, including arms dealers.

Since the beginning of 2026, IDF soldiers have confiscated more than 250 weapons and 40 weapon production machines used in the production of weapons, firearms, and explosive devices throughout Judea and Samaria.

The IDF has eliminated Akram Muhammad Mahmoud Abu Mazi, a terrorist in Hamas’ military wing.

Abu Mazi infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7th Massacre.

In recent weeks, he attempted to restore Hamas’s capabilities and advance terror attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians.

Israeli forces reportedly carried out a targeted strike on a Hezbollah terrorist in Southern Lebanon a short time ago.

Both Israel and Lebanon have denied a report that the Israel Defense Forces had withdrawn from an area in Southern Lebanon as a goodwill gesture to the Lebanese government ahead of negotiations.

The denials came in response to a request for comment from Reuters, after an anonymous US State Department official told the news service that “Israel has already taken a concrete step by pulling back from a part of its buffer ⁠zone. This is a significant demonstration of good faith toward Lebanon’s legitimate government.”

Israeli leaders insist the IDF will not leave Southern Lebanon until Hezbollah is no longer a threat to northern Israel, and they have repeatedly expressed doubt in the Lebanese military’s ability and willingness to achieve that goal.

Headlines matter, but they are not the whole story.

Meanwhile, Iran’s foreign minister reiterated that the Islamic Republic fully intends to collect tolls from all shipping through the Strait of Hormuz in the future.

Almost half of US voters in a Quinnipiac University poll say that the United States has become too supportive of Israel, the highest percentage since the question was first asked almost a decade ago.

48% said Washington was too supportive of the Jewish state—including 60% of Democrats and 20% of Republicans.

38% said the level of support was just right.

7% said the United States was not supportive enough.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was viewed unfavorably, 48% to 20%.

Four Israel Defense Forces officers and soldiers were wounded on Thursday in a close-quarters encounter with a Hezbollah terrorist in Southern Lebanon, the military said in a statement.

One officer was moderately wounded and the rest sustained light injuries.

The terrorist approached the Israeli force and hurled a grenade at the soldiers from a nearby building, prompting an IDF artillery and air response.

The IDF struck and eliminated seven Hezbollah terrorists who transferred weapons near the Security Zone in southern Lebanon.

The terrorists transferred the weapons into a structure in the El Manzala area that was used as a combat and observation post, and from which the terrorists operated to prepare and carry out military activity to attack IDF soldiers.

The terrorists’ actions at the post alongside the presence of the weapons within it constituted a threat to the soldiers.
