Lebanese Christians say Trump is making a mistake.

Samy Gemayel, a top Lebanese Christian parliamentarian, is urging America not to let Iran make Lebanon part of its deal with Trump.

Iran, he stressed, does not care about Lebanon. It only wants to protect its terrorist proxy, Hezbollah, which is ruining Lebanon.

Said Gemayel:

“The land will not be free, the displaced will not return to their homes, and we will not live in peace, as long as the weapons of the militias are on our land.

“We will not coexist with Hezbollah, whatever the results of the talks taking place outside Lebanon.

“The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the United States and Iran has nothing to do with Lebanon. What Iran is trying to do through the agreement is to protect its people in Lebanon, not Lebanon.”
