A commercial vessel was reportedly hijacked by Iranian naval forces off the coast of the UAE a short time ago and is now bound for Iranian territorial waters.

The world has turned upside down.

In Europe, Israeli artists are booed, boycotts are celebrated, and the Jewish state is treated like a global pariah.

But from parts of the Arab world, something very different is emerging: respect, realism, and even open support.

An Emirati commentator congratulated Israel’s Eurovision finalist, quoted Ecclesiastes, and said the people of Israel deserve “music, celebration and light.”

Some Arab voices are beginning to see Israel clearly: not as the enemy, but as a stable, strong, necessary partner against Iran and radical Islamism.

Meanwhile, parts of Europe are forgetting how to tell the difference.

Israel will turn the former offices of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which aided Hamas in its Oct. 7 2023 invasion of Israel, into a museum for the Israel Defense Forces.

The UNRWA headquarters in Jerusalem was shuttered in early 2025 after the Knesset banned the UN body over its complicity in the Oct. 7 massacres.

In addition to an IDF museum, the compound will also soon house an IDF recruitment center and a bureau for the Ministry of Defense.
