Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter after meeting with the Lebanese ambassador in Washington:

"These were excellent talks in an excellent atmosphere, which is a crushing victory against Hezbollah. We are on the same side, the Lebanese people and the Israeli people, the Israeli government and the Lebanese government - we are on the same side. They expressed a strong desire this time to truly disarm Hezbollah.”

Hezbollah has fired between 20-30 rockets at communities in northern Israel so far this morning.

The US maritime blockade of Iranian ports is in full effect.

Reports indicate that more than a dozen Iranian ships returning to Iran were stopped and turned around by the US Navy yesterday.

At the same time, the Americans permitted 20 commercial vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without paying a toll to the Iranians.

Iran and the US have reportedly reached an agreement "in principle" to extend the ceasefire beyond next Wednesday (which is the two-week deadline).

There are also reports that Washington is pressuring Israel to halt its operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir in southern Lebanon: “We are achieving significant operational results. We are advancing, striking Hezbollah, and they are withdrawing. Hezbollah is weakened and isolated in Lebanon.”

The US military reports that no Iranian ships or ships doing business with Iran have managed to get past the naval blockade of Iranian ports.

Netanyahu:

"Our forces continue to strike Hezbollah, we are on the verge of conquering Bint Jbeil [southern Lebanon]. I gave instructions to the IDF to continue to reinforcing the security zone.

"Our American friends are constantly updating us on the talks with Iran. Our goals are the same. Should the war resume, we are prepared for any scenario."

A Hezbollah official vows that any Lebanese government that cooperates with Israel will be overthrown.
