Pakistan is no peacemaker

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja M. Asif is under fire after an X post in which he called Israel “evil” and a “curse for humanity.”

Asif claimed that even as Pakistan is trying to broker peace in the Middle East, Israel is committing a “genocide” in Lebanon. [Apparently, any number of dead in Israeli defensive actions now constitutes a “genocide”.]

The Pakistani minister ended his post, which has since been deleted, by cursing those who helped in the restoration of Israel:

“I hope and pray people who created this cancerous state on Palestinian land to get rid of European jews burn in hell.”

Israeli leaders fired back over the despicable remarks of Pakistan’s defense minister.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

“This is not a statement that can be tolerated from any government, especially not from one that claims to be a neutral arbiter for peace.”

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar:

“Israel views very gravely these blatant antisemitic blood libels from a government claiming to mediate peace.

“Calling the Jewish state ‘cancerous’ is effectively calling for its annihilation. Israel will defend itself against terrorists who vow its destruction.”

Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter:

“The Ayatollahs chanted ‘Death to Israel'—and now a so-called ‘mediator’ is echoing the same language. You are not a mediator Mr. Asif, you are the problem. Even if it is to your dismay, Israel is here to stay. That’s not for negotiation.”

In a rapid response, the IDF struck approximately 10 Hezbollah launchers that fired rockets toward northern Israel on Thursday evening.

Israeli forces eliminated Abd al-Rahman Ammar Hassan Khudari, a terrorist in the Islamic Jihad terror organization, who took part in the infiltration of Kibbutz Nir Oz during the brutal October 7th massacre.

Hezbollah has launched at least 10 rockets at northern Israel this morning. One directly hit a home in the border community of Misgav Am. No reports of injuries.

Israel’s message to Lebanon is simple: if you want peace, disarm Hezbollah.

Jerusalem says it is ready for direct talks with Beirut. But this is not diplomacy for diplomacy’s sake. The issue is Hezbollah, its weapons, and the reality that no serious stability exists on Israel’s northern border while an Iranian proxy remains armed.

You can’t make peace with a government that doesn’t have full sovereignty and from whose territory a terrorist army operates.
