Why is Israel still attacking Lebanon?
Israelβs ongoing assault on Hezbollah in Lebanon following Trumpβs sudden ceasefire declaration in Iran gives the impression that Jerusalem is deliberately trying to torpedo the truce.
Thatβs certainly how itβs being portrayed by foreign governments and media.
But Israel agreed to the November 2024 Lebanon ceasefire on the condition that Hezbollah be disarmed south of the Litani River and never again pose a threat to the Jewish state.
Given the weapons Israeli troops have found in Southern Lebanon over the past month, and the multitude of missile and drone attacks on Israel from Lebanon in recent weeks, that agreement was clearly not honored by Beirut.
After Oct. 7, Israel will never again allow a terrorist army to sit on its borders.
If Lebanon wonβt do the job, even after it agreed to do so, Israel will.

A Gulf diplomat told the Associated Press that there is concern among Arab states that Iran could emerge stronger from the war.
He said Arab countries in the region are concerned that sanctions on Iran will be lifted soon and that Iran will collect payments from vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz. He added that the Gulf states, which he said were not involved in the ceasefire negotiations, are concerned that a possible agreement would not take into account their security needs, especially with regard to freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
These concerns are shared by Israel.

A press vest is not a free pass for Hamas.
The IDF says it eliminated Muhammad Samir Muhammad Washah, a Hamas terrorist involved in rocket, drone, and weapons production, who operated under the guise of an Al Jazeera journalist.
The IDF says Washah helped transfer weapons across Gaza, contributed to Hamasβs force build-up, and was actively involved in planning attacks against IDF troops. As such, he posed a concrete threat to forces in the area.
Before the strike, the military says it took steps to mitigate civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence.
