❗Update: The US is pushing for a 45-day ceasefire with Iran, but Tehran still has not given a clear answer.

Israeli officials say Washington wants a pause, but the core problem remains unchanged: Iran will not commit to US demands.

One Israeli insider put it plainly: “It can still go either way, but we assume it ends in escalation.”

Meanwhile, new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is silent, and the IRGC remains dug in, including on the refusal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Israel is preparing for both outcomes: a temporary ceasefire or a broader escalation.

The military assessment is equally telling: Iran appears to be struggling to hit strategic targets inside Israel, especially infrastructure and energy sites — and that failure is adding to the pressure in Tehran.

As one Israeli official said: “This is heading toward a bigger explosion, above all because of Iranian behavior.”

Using the operation to rescue the downed navigator as cover, US bombers reportedly attacked an urgent meeting of top Iranian commanders on Sunday.

According to Fox News, B-2 bombers flew all the way from the US mainland to drop bunker-buster bombs on the underground facility where the Iranian leaders were meeting.

A US government official stated: "A large part of the chain of command has been eliminated."
