An entire IDF battalion has been removed from operational duty after some of its soldiers detained a CNN crew in Samaria last week.

CNN reported that its correspondent, Jeremy Diamond, and his cameraman were held and allegedly subjected to mild violence while trying to film near an illegal Jewish settler outpost.

Some of the soldiers did speak to Diamond, telling him that what the world calls the β€œWest Bank” belongs to the Jews, and that they were exacting β€œrevenge” for the murder of a local Jewish resident by Palestinian Arabs earlier in the month.

The IDF said the soldiers’ behavior was not in line with the Israeli military’s code of conduct, and that a thorough investigation is being conducted.

Why do these Christians always misrepresent the situation and create a diplomatic incident?

The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem is making a stink in the media over Israel forbidding Easter gatherings at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

Of course, the way he’s doing it gives the impression that Israel is arbitrarily targeting Christians. He doesn’t say so outright, but he’s smart enough to know that’s how it’ll be picked up by the foreign press.

The truth? ALL holy sites, including Jewish ones, are closed due to the threat of Iranian missiles.

The Patriarch said he’s willing to hold a small private ceremony just to keep the Easter tradition alive, and the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem said it is willing to consider that compromise.

State President Isaac Herzog also stressed that this has nothing to do with persecuting Christians, and that the church and all other holy sites are closed because Israel doesn’t want the Christians to be harmed.

The foreign ministers of Germany, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom issued a joint statement regarding proposed legislation in the Knesset introducing the death penalty for terrorists:

β€œWe express deep concern about a bill that would expand the possibility of imposing the death penalty in Israel. We oppose the death penalty worldwide and call on decision-makers in Israel to abandon these plans.”

The proposed death penalty is understood as a tool to prevent future hostage deals, particularly those in which convicted Palestinian terrorists are freed in exchange for Israeli hostages.

Spain's shameless prime minister claims Israel is preventing Christians from celebrating Palm Sunday and Easter for no good reason.

The easily-verifiable truth, which Pedro SΓ‘nchez seems to care nothing for, is that Israel closed all holy sites belong to all religions due to the threat of Iranian missile attacks.

As Israeli President Isaac Herzog stated, this has been done for the safety of Jews, Christians, and Muslims.

Is Lebanon a sovereign nation?

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar says Lebanon has been exposed as a β€œvirtual state” both for its failure to disarm an illegal militia (Hezbollah) and its inability to expel a hostile foreign ambassador.

Last week, Lebanon expelled the Iranian ambassador and ordered him to leave by yesterday. He’s still in Beirut, defiantly remaining in place, and Lebanon seems impotent to do anything about it.

Israel will allow the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem to hold services at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

This was decided against safety guidelines amid ongoing Iranian missile attacks, and only because the patriarch ran to the media and caused an international diplomatic incident by falsely accusing Israel of discrimination.

CORRECTION: Latin Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa did not accuse Israel of discrimination after police forbid him from holding services at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Pizzaballa said he understood the restrictions, but felt it was excessive to deny entry to a small delegation to hold a brief service.

Others, including Catholic officials and mainstream media, took that and ran with the false narrative of Israel persecuting Christians.

Between everyday routine and frequent trips to the bomb shelter to avoid being hit by Iranian missiles, the reality Israelis are living can seem surreal.

And yet, life goes on in a way that might seem absurd to people living in other countries.

At the same time, many in Europe and elsewhere have been grappling lately with developing systems to deal with life under missile threat.

Israel lives that reality, and so has developed a dense protection system consisting of multiple layers of interceptors, multiple levels of national alert, and mandatory home bomb shelters.

The result is that despite thousands of missile attacks on the Jewish state, casualties have been relatively low, and people feel relatively safe in going about their daily business between the sirens.
