Iran says it launched missiles at Diego Garcia

Iranian state media reports that regime forces launched two ballistic missiles at the British airbase on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. According to the report, the attack demonstrates the range of Iranian offensive capabilities, which is greater than Western powers had previously assumed.

While the attack failed (one missile reportedly landed short of Diego Garcia and the other was intercepted), an Israeli source told Arab media that the incident proves Iran’s ability to attack Europe and even the United States.

Both Israel and the US have stated that destroying the Iranian regime’s ballistic missile capabilities is a top priority, and the Diego Garcia attack, together with Iran’s reckless attacks on its neighbors, shows why this is a necessity.
