Israeli President Isaac Herzog and his wife Michal visited victims of the Iranian missile attack on Beit Shemesh, including Pnina Cohen, whose husband and mother-in-law were among the nine people killed.

“My son is burying his father instead of celebrating his bar mitzvah today.

“My little one was next to me. Thank God, he was operated on his legs, and he is alright. I was wounded in the leg and underwent surgery.”

Cohen and her family were in the local synagogue for Purim festivities when the siren wailed. They ran into the synagogue’s bomb shelter, but it sustained a direct hit from an Iranian missile.

“I was right beneath the hole that was torn open and I have no explanation for how we were not more seriously hurt. We experienced a great miracle. And despite all the pain, I feel that we were under great protection.”

Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of the last Shah of Iran and a leader of the opposition against the Islamic Republic, on Tuesday called on ethnic minorities to unite against the regime, saying it was nearing collapse.

“We stand at the threshold of this regime’s fall. Yet, we must remain vigilant and prepared, and deny opportunistic forces a chance to exploit this moment.

“I firmly believe that through national unity and shared resolve, a bright future awaits you—and every Iranian.

“Long live Iran.”
