US envoy Steve Witkoff told reporters on Thursday that the Trump administration is still looking for a "diplomatic solution" to the crisis in Iran.
He said claims that the regime in Tehran had agreed to not carry out mass executions of protesters was positive, but that a deal would also need to include:
• An end to uranium enrichment;
• Restrictions on Iran's missile arsenal.
This news is likely to not sit well with Iranians, who don't want a deal that enables the ayatollahs to remain in power.
For Iranians, this must only end in regime change.
