Mamdani owes Hamas?

The grandson of the Islamic Republic's founder, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, says that Zohran Mamdani's victory in New York City is a “consequence of October 7.”

“The events of October 7 and the crimes that followed triggered a cultural awakening.

"It made Mamdani’s election possible. Once, it was unthinkable to speak openly against Israel in the US—today, two-thirds of Americans reject their government’s pro-Israel stance.”

He concluded ominously:

“The roots of a cultural awakening may well lie in blood.”

Israel Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir:

“There is no such thing as a 'Palestinian' people. It is an invention without any historical, archaeological, or factual basis.

“The group of immigrants from Arab countries to Eretz Israel does not constitute a people. And they certainly do not deserve any reward for the terror, murders, and atrocities they have committed everywhere, especially in the Gaza Strip.

“The only real solution for Gaza is to promote voluntary emigration. Giving them a state as a reward for terror would only serve as a basis for further terror.

“My party will not agree to this. I call on the Prime Minister to make it clear that the State of Israel will not allow the establishment of a Palestinian state in any form."

Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich sent a letter at the weekend to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanding that he take a clear stand against the joint declaration by the US and other Western powers in which they call for “initiating a process that opens a path to a Palestinian state.”

Smotrich addressed Netanyahu in a tweet, accusing him of "silence and diplomatic disgrace."

"Two months ago, immediately after several countries announced their unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state, you promised that you would respond decisively, immediately after your return from the US. Since then, as mentioned, two months have passed during which you have chosen silence and diplomatic disgrace."

There is mounting concern that Netanyahu is being strong-armed into an arrangement that will result in a Palestinian state that is recognized even by Washington.

Israel is deeply worried by the Trump administration’s openness to selling advanced F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia as part of a broader package that includes normalization with Israel and a move toward a Palestinian state.

Israel’s air superiority in the Middle East is one of the keys to its security in a hostile region.

Jerusalem fears that if the Saudis get these weapons, they might later fall into the hands of less friendly actors.

There’s also the fact that in the Middle East, there’s no telling who might be in control of a country tomorrow. The current Saudi regime is not considered a threat, but will it always be in power?

Israel condemns Iran’s seizure of Marshall Islands-flagged oil tanker Talara on Friday morning in the Gulf of Oman.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar compared Iran to its proxy, Yemen’s Houthi militia, in a post to X, saying:

“Iran is acting as a pirate state and terrorizing naval routes.”
