Convince the Wife and You’ve Convinced the Man!
During his stay in Aleppo under the Zenghid Dynasty, Al-Kāsānī raḥimahullah (d.587 AH), the author of Badā’iʿ al-Ṣanā’iʿ (بدائع الصنائع) contemplated going back to Transoxiana. When Nūr al-Dīn Zenghī (d.569 AH) heard of this, he became upset and asked Al-Kāsānī raḥimahullah (d.587 AH) to stay in Aleppo, Al-Kāsānī informed him that it is the request of his wife and he is unable to refuse her due to her being the daughter of his teacher.
Accordingly, Nūr al-Dīn Zenghī (d.569 AH) sent a male slave to convince Fāṭimah to stay in Aleppo. When Fāṭimah saw the male servant, she refused to talk to him as he was a male and in fact, she scolded her husband Al-Kāsānī raḥimahullah (d.587 AH) as to how he had allowed a male slave to come visit her. So then, Nūr al-Dīn Zenghī (d.569 AH) sent a female slave who spoke to Fāṭimah, pleading with her to stay in Aleppo and not go back to Transoxiana.
She agreed and eventually passed away in Aleppo during Al-Kāsānī raḥimahullah (d.587 AH)’s lifetime. Later, when Kāsānī raḥimahullah (d.587 AH) passed away, he was buried close to her.
