Al-Suhaylī raḥimahullah (d.581 AH)’s comment regarding ʿAmr ibn Luḥayy/Rabīʿah ibn Ḥārithah ibn ʿAmr/Muzayqiyah ibn ʿĀmir al-Khuzāʿī
In a recent Seerah lecture, I spoke to the attendees regarding the comment of Al-Suhaylī raḥimahullah (d.581 AH) in Al-Rawḍ al-Unuf (الروض الأنف) [1:488] regarding the man who introduced idol worship amongst the Arabs; ʿAmr ibn Luḥayy al-Khuzāʿī. Prior to this, the Arabs were essentially upon the true religion of Ibrahīm AS and Ismāʿīl AS.
ʿAmr had taken charge of the Kaʿbah after expelling Jurhum from Makkah with the children of Ismāʿīl AS, in particular Banū Bakr ibn ʿAbd Manāt ibn Kinānah. Al-Suhaylī states that when ʿAmr took charge of the Kaʿbah, the Arabs made him into a lord! (جعلته العرب ربا) He would not say anything except that they would accept it. Accordingly, when he created innovations in Deen, they automatically accepted it.
The lesson for us here is to always ensure we don’t raise any person’s status above the status of Allah the Almighty and His Messenger ṣallallahu ʿalayhi wasallam.
May Allah the Almighty protect us from deviating from the straight path and always keep us attached to Him and His Messenger ṣallallahu ʿalayhi wasallam.

Words Are Powerful
I was sitting and pondering over the aḥādīth related to the incident of Al-Ḥudaybiyyah and had a sort of eureka moment. In the incident of Al-Ḥudaybiyyah, the Prophet ṣallallahu ʿalayhi wasallam had seen a dream that he is performing ʿumrah with his companions and, due to the fact that the dreams of a Prophet are revelation, he set off for Makkah.
Unfortunately, the Quraysh of Makkah belligerently stopped him at Al-Ḥudaybiyyah and sent him back to Madīnah Munawwarah. Naturally, this incident really made the Muslims very upset as they were convinced that they would enter Makkah. ʿUmar raḍiyallahu ʿanhu was very upset and he came to the Prophet ṣallallahu ʿalayhi wasallam and asked, “Are we not upon the truth and our enemies are upon falsehood?“ The Prophet ṣallallahu ʿalayhi wasallam replied, “Of course!“ When ʿUmar raḍiyallahu ʿanhu asked further as to why this incident is happening to the Muslims, the Prophet ṣallallahu ʿalayhi wasallam responded with:
يا ابن الخطاب إني رسول الله ولن يضيعني الله أبدا
O Ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, I am the Messenger of Allah and Allah will never abandon me
[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, ḥadīth number: 1785]
I was marvelling over the tawakkul of the Prophet ṣallallahu ʿalayhi wasallam when suddenly I thought, “These words ring a bell.“ And then I realised it’s the same words his beloved Khadījah raḍiyallahu ʿanhā had used to console him over 20 years ago when he first received revelation. When he saw Jibrīl ʿalayh al-salām for the first time and the first revelation occurred, the Prophet ṣallallahu ʿalayhi wasallam came home and was terrified, immediately Khadījah raḍiyallahu ʿanha calmed him. What did she say to the Prophet? She said:
ما يخزيك الله أبدا
Allah will never disgrace you
[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, ḥadīth number: 3]
20 years later, those same words of Khadījah raḍiyallahu ʿanhā still rang in the ears of the Prophet ṣallallahu ʿalayhi wasallam and he remembered them during this moment of hardship. Your one comment in consoling a person during a moment of hardship may be the comment that keeps them going during every future hardship they endure. Words are powerful.

Relying on Mufti Taqi al-Uthmani's English Qur'an Translation
I came across an interesting translation in Dr. Mustafa al-Khattab and M.A.S. Abdel Haleem's translations of the Qur'anic ayah:
وعلى الثلاثة الذين خلفوا
These two scholars translated it as:
And Allah has also turned in mercy to the three who had remained behind.
However, the hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari (see the picture below) clearly mentions from Ka'b Ibn Malik himself that the خلفوا was not that they were left behind in the battle, but that their matter was delayed by Allah and His Messenger as to whether they will be forgiven or not.
Mufti Taqi al-Uthmani clearly being aware of this narration translates it more accurately as:
And (He relented) towards the three whose matter was deferred
Considering the idea that the person regarding whom the verse was revealed would be most aware of its context, it would mean the second translation is more accurate.
This would suggest the importance of relying upon Mufti Taqi al-Uthmani's translation of the Qur'an, primarily due to his scholarship in general.

Daily Imaan Affirmations For Children Every Evening! For Boys & Girls!
The document below can be printed out and made into a frame which is what we did for our little one. Alḥamdulillah my wife made this for our 3 year old daughter and she reads it every night. I would highly recommend everyone who has young children even if they’re 10 years old to print this out and encourage them to read it every night before going to sleep.
It won’t take them more than 20 seconds to read but instills the love of Īmaan into our children!

الأترجة فيمن ابتلي بأذى الزوجة
Is your spouse troubling you? Solution: Have a Citrus Fruit (🥴)!
الأترجة فيمن ابتلي بأذى الزوجة
A Citrus Fruit for the One Who Has Been Troubled By Their Spouse
The citrus fruit is a reference to the idea of consolation.
My wife is on this platform, so I want to make it clear, Alhamdulillah, I DON'T need this book.😁👀
On a serious note, the story of Murtada al-Zabidi rahimahullah (d.1205 AH) was quite scary. His wife concealed the fact that he'd passed away so that she and her family could steal most of his wealth. Allah the Almighty protect us all.
