Part 2 Describe a habit a friend has and you want to develop

Sample answers with vocabulary and ideas 💡

A few months ago, my best friend decided to start drinking 1.5 litres of water every day. First, she told me about her plan. She believes that publicly announcing her goals gives her the pressure she needs to actually follow through, otherwise she feels she's letting people down. Honestly, this strategy works with me too.

A few days later she began carrying a water bottle everywhere. It was impossible not to notice. It didn't even fit into her crossbody bag, so she had to carry it in her hands. Later, when we went on holiday together, I saw how seriously she was sticking to her new routine.

Her system wasn't complicated. She drank a glass of water right after getting up, another one with each meal, and she always had her bottle with her when we were walking or exercising. That's still what she does now.

I have to admit, I'd like to develop this habit too. I know that not drinking enough water can cause kidney stones, high blood pressure, dry skin, constant fatigue, headaches, muscle weakness and lots of other health issues. So I'm ready to give it another try. For me, the hard part is that water tastes bland, and I usually prefer coffee with meals.

l've decided to give it a shot the same way she did. For example, I'll start the day with one glass of water, then have another one with every meal.

I’ll also carry a small bottle with me whenever I leave the house, so I have no excuse. I might add a slice of lemon or some cucumber for flavor. My goal is to at least drink one litre a day for the first month, and then slowly build up from there. And to make it easier, I'm going to download an app that reminds you to drink water during the day.
That way I won't be able to forget.

Ophelia is a young noblewoman in Hamlet by William Shakespeare. She’s deeply in love with Prince Hamlet, but their relationship becomes tragic when Hamlet starts acting strangely and rejects her. Then her father, Polonius, is killed and that breaks her completely. Heartbroken and confused, she loses her mind and eventually drowns in a river.

That’s why Ophelia has become a symbol of lost innocence, heartbreak, and emotional collapse.

And that’s exactly what Taylor Swift refers to in The Fate of Ophelia، the feeling of losing yourself in love and sorrow, just like Ophelia did. 💔

1. “To drown in your sorrow” →
2. “To lose oneself” →

⚠️Common Mistake

I didn’t do nothing
I didn’t do anything

I didn’t do anything. →

Part 2 Describe a time when it was important to tell the truth

Sample answers with vocabulary and ideas 💡

Well, last year I went to a winter resort, and I needed a big suitcase 'cause I couldn't cram all my winter stuff into my small one. You know, just one sweater took up half the space. So I decided to borrow a bigger one 'cause I didn't want to buy an item that I would use once in a blue moon. I have a friend from work who is a professional traveller, and he has suitcases of all sizes and shapes. So l decided to borrow a suitcase from him.

The one that he gave to me was hardside luggage. This made me a little worried. These suitcases are very stylish, but prone to cracking and damage. And they are particularly vulnerable to damage during carriage on an airplane while being loaded and unloaded. They do not like being thrown around as many baggage handlers do. I was really afraid it would be scratched or damaged in any other way.

What | feared came upon me. My luggage was damaged during the flight. I didn't know how to tell my friend about it. I decided to buy exactly the same suitcase and return it to my friend, hoping he wouldn't notice the change.

I spent a few days searching for it, but this suitcase model was out of stock. So all I could do was tell my friend the truth about his suitcase and offer a replacement item.

When I told him the news, he was so upset that he didn't even manage to get the right look on his face. It appeared to be his favourite suitcase. But he wasn't angry with me 'cause it wasn't my fault.
