Children Underground (2001)

Filmed in Bucharest, Romania, this 2001 film follows the lives of several street children that live in the city's underground metro. It portrays the children's relationship with each other, their obstacles, the relationship with their estranged families, and the social workers that reach out to them.

There is good news for some of the children filmed in this documentary. I did some investigation to find an update and discovered that Mihai and the girl nicknamed "Macarena" are still alive. He did an interview with her, you can find it here on his YT channel:

Additionally, according to Mihai in the comments, the girl named Cristina, "lives in Bucharest in a social apartment with 2 other girls and works and takes advantage of her life. and he doesn't want to be on facebook (Cristina Ionescu)". Apparently, Ana and Marian are also alive. Ana, lives in Austria.
