The ongoing escalation of border tensions between Ethiopia and Sudan has become increasingly concerning. A few of us from both countries refuse to accept and support the romanticization of war and conflict. Our people deserve peace and comfortable living conditions.
To make this stand publicly, we want to make a short video, which will be shared among multiple networks and online platforms. We are asking Ethiopians and Sudanese across the world to participate in making this video. Below is a prompt, please record yourself (can be individual or a group) reading the prompt and send it back to myself or Ounayasa Arabi (cc'd in this email). If it would be easier to send via social platforms, please send the video via Whatsapp, to +251955424945. If you cannot make the video, please support us in sharing this call to your respective networks. We will stop accepting video submission by Sunday, January 24, 2021. Once the video is edited it will be sent back to all participants.

We the youth, of Africa, Ethiopia and Sudan, denounce all wars in our regions.
We acknowledge the history, the culture we share, together with the humanity of our peoples, and we are willing to celebrate it.
We understand that war leads to unbearable destruction and devastations.
Our region is already facing much conflict and militarization, not to mention health, climate, and natural disasters.
The escalations and desires of war does not represent us, our shared history and culture, nor the vision of Africa,
We condemn violence, This has to stop NOW.
We say NoToWar.
We encourage and hope for participation, as the devastations of war directly and indirectly affect Africans at home and the diaspora. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or further clarification.
