↑↑🌺 Women in Islam: A 20-min Speech by Hamidah Abbas🫀

“And do not wish for that by which Allah has made some of you exceed others. For men is a share of what they have earned, and for women is a share of what they have earned. And ask Allah of His bounty. Indeed, Allah is ever, of all things, Knowing.” (Qur'an 4:32)👑

So do not forget. Men and women are parents but Almighty ALLAH chose the greatest parents from women and those are called mothers.

Similarly, Almighty ALLAH chose men and women as teachers but HE (Exalted is HE) chose the greatest teachers from men and those are called Prophets🫀

🌺 Seeking Authority🫀

Given what you've just listened to, it's good to know that while we (humans) are herds, there's always the exceptions. The exceptions are those who travel the less travelled roads. Those who create new culture. They are the ones who redefine how the world works. They look where everyone is looking and see what no one is seeing.

Verse 58 of Suratu Maryam made it clear that it is possible to be chosen without being a Prophet. If you've been chosen, you'll know. The signs will be over clear. And you won't have to be going up and down demanding authority, Almighty ALLAH will grant you the authority because it is a need. If you're in doubt about being chosen, perhaps, Almighty ALLAH will guide you.

A doctor needs a medical license to carry out surgeries on your body.

Similarly, a leader needs authority to lead people.

If you don't need authority for your job and you're demanding for authority, you have a clear case of ego (arrogance). It is haram. It is harm. Arrogance, as we know, will ensure that you burn in hell.

By the way, you can be selectively humble. The fact that you're humble towards some people doesn't mean you're completely humble.

Again, if you're chosen. You need authority and it will be given to you. Therefore stop demanding authority unnecessarily based on your gender, race, city.

If you're in doubt about being chosen, read this verse:

These are the ones whom Allah has blessed: from among the Prophets of the descendants of Adam, and of those We carried with Noah, and of the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and of those We guided and chose. When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell down in prostration and in tears.(Qur'an 19:58)

Khidr is chosen but not a Prophet.
The same way Maryam, the mother of Isa (Jesus) was chosen
And The Mother of Musa.
Asiyah, the wife of Fir'aun and so on and so forth of these women.
The Hairdresser of Fir'aun.
The Wives of of the Prophet.
His Family.
The Boy in Surah Al-Buruj
These are some examples of people who have been chosen without being Prophets.

The people who are part of the exception need authority to do their jobs. So some of the Prophets, Almighty ALLAH gave miracles, In their case, authority is a need. It's not optional. So I need to check myself and you also need to check yourself whenever you feel the need to claim authority with control or domination. What exactly is going on? Why are you arrogant. If you've not seen any sign from Almighty ALLAH and if you've not been chosen to create a new culture for the world why are you running all over the place demanding authority. By demanding authority, you're arrogant. For those who need it, it'll be given to them without asking for it.

For example, it took several years of calling before Senator Natasha Hadiza Akpoti accepted the call of her people to become their politician on 3/8/2018. She didn't seek power.

the righteous among the salaf used to fear leadership, even fleeing from it when offered.

📖 Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī (7146), Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim (1733)
Narrated by Abu Musa al-Ash‘ari (RA):
“I went to the Prophet ﷺ, I and two other men of the Quraysh, and one of the two men said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, appoint us as leaders over some of that which Allah has put under your control.’ The other also said the same.
The Prophet ﷺ replied:
‘By Allah, we do not appoint to this position anyone who asks for it or is eager for it.’

If leadership comes without seeking, and a person is qualified and sincere, then Allah supports them in fulfilling it.

If you're seeking for power/respect/honour, you're arrogant. You're arrogant. You're arrogant.

Please note that it is possible to be arrogant without realising it. So check yourself. Are you seeking to control your spouse/neighbour/land/anybody whom you don't have right over?

Fight against your ego and may Almighty ALLAH grant us success.

Sincerely,
