十一月十一日，和平記念日又稱「國殤紀念日」，喺一戰結束後成立，後來擴展至悼念香港保衛戰中的捐軀者及在第二次世界大戰中為自由犧牲嘅士兵和民眾，而言只有極權政府一直存在，真正嘅和平與自由永遠喺威脅之下愈走愈遠。經過戰爭嘅教訓，歷史總之告知大家對唔尊重人民嘅政權容忍只會讓人民自由斷送，最後更加會波及更多無辜嘅人民。
捍衛自由 矢志不渝

懇請大家毋忘世界上所有曾為自由犧牲嘅手足。
▍和平紀念碑 聳立於中環的必要
港督司徒拔（Sir Reginald Edward Stubbs）隨後代表港府走到台上致辭。他解釋了為何要在中環黃金地段立法碑：
「我們將紀念碑安置在這個殖民地最顯眼的位置，讓所有到訪香港的人都能看見，以紀念帝國中所有階級及各個種族的人士。」
司徒拔致辭後，拉下蓋在紀念碑上的一面巨大的英國國旗，正式揭幕。儀仗隊舉槍敬禮（Present Arms），樂隊奏起英國國歌。往後訂於每年11月第二個星期日的和平紀念日，除日佔時期外，香港都會在此舉行紀念儀式。
截至2002年4月，全球共有291個和平紀念碑的複本。 二戰後，紀念碑刻上阿拉伯數字「1914-1918」及「1939-1945」的兩次世界大戰年份，以紀念為保衛香港抵抗日軍侵略而犧牲的軍民。1981年，紀念碑側面刻上「英魂不朽浩氣長存」八個中文字，既肯定華人的戰時貢獻，亦見證戰後中文地位漸漸提升。

中國駐曼徹斯特總領事館職員於上周日（16/10）破壞和平示威者的橫額及標語，及後更將港人拖進領事館範圍內毆打，行徑卑鄙野蠻，完全無視自由民主國家的法規。
響應全英緊急召集，DSWHK將會在市中心設立街站，向當地居民解釋中共企圖綁架香港人的事件，並邀請他們簽署聯署及一人一信電郵給所屬居住地的MP，要求英國政府強硬回應事件。

Venue: Durham Market Place
此事足見中共政治壓迫越趨嚴重，加上早前中共政協商會透過實習計劃滲透英國大學，以及中共於海外設立秘密警察，我們有必要向英國居民宣揚中國的惡行。

Il reflète également la poursuite de la liberté et de la démocratie des Hongkongais.
« The Hong Konger » a été sélectionné pour le 2e Festival du film de Hong Kong (Royaume-Uni) Hong Kong Film Festival UK et a été projeté dans plusieurs villes en dehors de Hong Kong.
