God’s Amazing Creation

A butterfly drifts through the air and most people barely think twice. It looks light, even random, like it’s just floating wherever the breeze takes it. For years, many scientists assumed that kind of flight was inefficient, almost sloppy compared to the clean, powerful motion of birds or airplanes. But when researchers finally slowed it down and studied it closely, that assumption collapsed. What looked chaotic turned out to be deeply controlled, highly engineered movement.
Each wingbeat of a butterfly is doing something remarkable. Instead of simple flapping, the wings create swirling vortices of air, capturing and reusing energy with precision timing. They use a motion known as β€œclap and fling,” where the wings come together and then snap apart to generate extra lift. This isn’t accidental or crude. It is a sophisticated aerodynamic system that modern engineers are still trying to replicate in flying machines. Even more striking, this entire system is controlled by a tiny brain with almost no computational power compared to human technology. What we once dismissed as weak or inefficient is actually a masterclass in design.
This matters because it exposes a deeper issue. When people assume nature is the result of blind processes, they often interpret complexity as coincidence or imperfection. But the closer we look, the more that story falls apart. The butterfly doesn’t flutter because it’s poorly designed. It flutters because it was designed to do exactly that, using methods far beyond human engineering. Creation consistently reveals intention, precision, and purpose when examined honestly.
And that brings us back to truth. The Bible declares that God is the Creator of all living things, and what we see in even the smallest creatures confirms it. The butterfly’s flight is not a mystery of chance. It is a visible reminder that design is real, that creation is intentional, and that the One who formed it all is not distant or unknown. He has made Himself known through what He has created, and ultimately through His Word.

A Glass of Milk

Whatever you sow, that will you reap.

β€œBe not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door.

Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, How much do I owe you?

You don't owe me anything, she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness."

He said..... "Then I thank you from my heart."

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Many year's later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled! They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.

Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.

Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once.

He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won.

Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words.....

"Paid in full with one glass of milk"

~~ Dr. Howard Kelly.

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You, God, that Your love has spread broad through human hearts and hands."

Heartbreaking

Heartbreaking! Can you imagine being just 15 years old, standing in a blood-soaked arena, and choosing to face wild beasts rather than deny Jesus Christ?
The sand of the Roman amphitheater in Lyon was already darkened with blood.
But when the guards brought the next Christian forward, the crowd didn't roar with excitement β€” they laughed.
He wasn't a hardened gladiator.
He wasn't a rebel soldier.
He was Ponticus, a boy only fifteen years of age.
During the brutal reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius...
Believers were hunted down, labeled as "atheists" and enemies of the pagan gods.
Now, it was this young boy's turn to face the terror of the empire.
Ponticus stood trembling β€” not out of cowardice, but simply because of his youth.
He had already survived days of horrific torture, scourging, and interrogation.
Now, the officials offered him one final, desperate way out:
"Swear by the gods. Live."
He could have easily walked out of that arena alive.
He was only 15, with his entire life still ahead of him!
Beside him stood Blandina, an older Christian woman whose miraculous endurance had astonished her captors.
When the boy's physical strength faltered beneath the pain, she looked at him β€” and his soul steadied.
He absolutely refused to curse the name of his Savior.
Infuriated by his defiance, the Romans released the wild beasts.
Ponticus was exposed, mocked, and brutally tormented.
The authorities tested him again and again...
Absolutely certain that a mere child would eventually break in terror and beg for his life.
He never did.
At the end of the long, horrific spectacle, the young martyr finally collapsed.
The pagan crowd thought they just saw a weak child fall.
But the Church knew they had just witnessed a spiritual giant!
In an arena where the Romans believed strength was measured entirely by steel and muscle...
A 15-year-old boy proved to the world that true faith is far stronger than the entire empire!

Hebrews 12:1-2
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

β€œBut when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.”
