A Testimony: Divine Appointment on a Desperate Morning

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful..." β€” 1 Corinthians 10:13

Sometimes God places people in our path at exactly the moment they need hope the most.
On what seemed like an ordinary morning, I found myself crossing paths with a young woman who was completely broken. The timing of our meeting was so extraordinary that I can only describe it as a divine appointment.

The night before, she had been out with friends at a bar. As the evening came to an end, she desperately wanted to go home, but her friends refused to leave. Feeling stranded, she accepted a ride from a stranger who promised to take her directly home. Instead, he took her across state lines to his house. The man was much older and physically intimidating. Far from home, isolated, and frightened, she quickly realized she was in a dangerous situation. She repeatedly begged him to let her go. For hours she felt trapped, helpless, and alone.

As she shared her story with me, tears streamed down her face. She was devastated not only by what had happened but by the consequences she feared would follow. She had a boyfriend and believed her relationship was over. She felt ashamed, broken, and hopeless. Yet Scripture tells us that "the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord", Romans 6:23.

As we talked, it became clear that this was not simply about one terrible night. She spoke openly about the path she had been walking and the choices that had led her into dangerous places. Like so many people today, she had been searching for fulfillment in the world while drifting further from God. The enemy often disguises destruction as freedom. One decision led to another until she found herself in a place where no friend could help her, no amount of regret could undo what had happened, and no human solution could erase her pain.

Finally, after much resistance, the man agreed for her to leave. At that very time, I happened to be in the area. Of all the places I could have been and all the times our paths could have crossed, there I was when she needed a ride home. I watched him let her out of the house, she was scared. I watched as she struggled to keep her composure, with half her clothes in hand, I knew something was wrong. She needed help. I rolled down my window and encouraged her to quickly get in my car. As she sat in my vehicle, overwhelmed with grief and fear, she began to tell me everything. Even that she didn’t want to report what happened to the police.

I listened.

Then, I told her about Jesus.

I told her that God's love for her had not ended because of her mistakes. I told her that Christ died for sinners, not for people who have everything together. I reminded her that every one of us has fallen short of God's glory and that forgiveness is available to those who repent and turn to Him. I shared how Jesus gave His life so that we could have the opportunity for eternal life. I explained that no sin is too great for the mercy of God when someone comes before Him with a repentant heart.

We talked about grace; not a grace that excuses sin, but a grace that rescues us from it.
We talked about repentance; not as punishment, but as a loving invitation from God to leave destruction behind and walk in a new direction.

As we spoke, her tears continued to flow. Yet something began to change. She said she felt an overwhelming peaceful Spirit that she couldn’t explain. The despair that had overwhelmed her started giving way to hope. The shame that had crushed her began to loosen its grip. The young woman who felt abandoned and ruined began to understand that God had not forgotten her. His Spirit, is with His people.

By the end of our conversation, she expressed a desire to turn away from her old life and follow Christ. What had begun as one of the darkest nights of her life became an opportunity to encounter the mercy of God.

She spoke of her grandmother who prayed for her to accept a life with the Savior. She explained that in her attempt to go to the β€œchurch” establishments, she felt unwelcome, never feeling the peace that she felt right there, the presence of God. I explained to her that God is calling her away from sin.

She left with so much hope, and desire to follow Christ. I left her with this Scripture, β€œAnd you shall seek Me and you shall find Me, if you seek Me with all of your heart”, Jeremiah 29:13. I told her to go to her grandmother and pray.

I drove away that day reminded once again that God is still calling people. He is still rescuing. He is still pursuing the lost. And He often meets people in their lowest moments, not to condemn them, but to offer them redemption through Jesus Christ.

What appeared to be a chance encounter was, in my eyes, a powerful reminder that God's timing is perfect. When we make ourselves available to serve Him, He can use ordinary moments to accomplish extraordinary things. The same God who met that young woman in her hour of desperation is still calling people today.

His mercy remains available.
His forgiveness remains available.
And through Jesus Christ, there is still hope for every repentant heart.

Please pray for this young woman who God is calling.

Have a Happy and Blessed Sabbath! ~Renee

🚨JUST IN: Canada just criminalized the Bible. Bill C-9 has passed the Senate, removing key religious protections and opening the door for Scripture to be treated as β€œhate speech.”

Quoting the Bible on marriage, sin, or God’s design for sexuality can now lead to prosecution for β€œwillful promotion of hatred.”

This is a direct attack on Christianity and religious freedom in Canada.

Brothers and sisters β€” the time to stand is now.

Pray for Canada. Speak the truth boldly. Defend the Gospel while we still can.
