The Devil Made Me Do It
A mother, on leaving home to go downtown, told her little son, “Johnny, while I am gone, don't get into the jam.” “No, mother, I won't,” he promised.
When she returned, the mother noticed jam on Johnny's fingers and all over his face.
“Didn't I tell you not to get into the jam, Johnny?” “Yes, mother, you did.” “Johnny, didn't I tell you that when Satan tempts you, you should tell him to get behind you?” “Yes... But when he got there, he pushed me right on it.”
So it is with many a child of God who casts side-glances at and in the heart ponders temptations to partake of the allurements of the world.
Romans 13:14
“But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”
Galatians 5:16
“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

"More stern will grow the
conflict
As nears our King's return,
And they alone can face it
Who this great lesson learn: -
That from them God asks nothing
But to unlatch the door
Admitting Him, who through them
Will conquer evermore."
We see intense conflict and injustice in these days, for Satan knows that his time is near, but Jesus said:
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." ~ John 16:33
