Praise: Important but Not Always Easy
Rejoicing in times of trial keeps us focused on the Lord and His good purpose.
Matthew 5:10-12
Godβs commands sometimes defy human logic.In todayβs passage, for example, He said weβre to rejoice in persecution. That doesnβt make sense until we realize the effect of praise: It keeps us focused on Him and the good things He can bring out of hardship.
The apostle Paul faced greater abuse and suffering than most of us ever will. He was beaten, put on trial, and imprisoned, yet he looked beyond those difficulties to what the Lord was accomplishing through his life.
If we believe God is in control and keeps His promises, then we must trust in the principle of Romans 5:3-5. This passage assures us that our hardships have a purpose. Specifically, they develop our endurance, strengthen our character, and solidify our hope. Weβre able to rejoice because we are maturing believers whom God can use for His purposes.
The Lord will bring good from our times of adversity, just as He did for Paul. We all experience times of doubt, but if we allow it to linger, we will struggle to praise what God is doing in and through our life. And if we canβt rejoice, we are in danger of giving up before the Lordβs good work can be completed. Rejoicing keeps us focused on Him and His purpose so we may see our trial through to the end and receive our reward.

The life of man on this earth is warfare! We are at war every single day! The Bible talks about how we are supposed to put on the Armour of God to prevent attacks from the enemy and defend ourselves in battle!
We as Christians will constantly be bombarded by the attacks of the devil and his demons. The more we devote our time and life to the LORD, the more they will attack; to draw us away, to make us waiver in our faith, to make us fall to sin, to drive a wedge between our relationship with God and to keep us from our God given purpose!
The best way to defend against these attacks is to be in the Word daily; not just reading a verse a day, but studying scripture and meditating upon it!
Next is to always be "instant" in prayer. That means we take time throughout the day to think about God, quiet our minds, reflect on His promises and pour our hearts out to Him. Always be spiritually aware of His presence at all times!
Finally, rest in God's power and might! God promised He would never leave us nor forsake us; and we know from scripture, He is our rock and shield and our strength!
Remember His promises, be in the Word, in prayer, and in worship, daily! Place your faith, trust, and hope in Jesus Christ, and you will never be sorry!
Keep fighting and enduring! No weapon formed against us shall prosper! God is with us, and if God be for us, who can be against us?!
