“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.”
Luke 13:34-35 KJV

The best way to endure as a good soldier of Jesus Christ, is to have a battle plan. The first thing you should pick up is your Bible, which is the sword of truth. That is the best offence and defence against the enemy.

In the wilderness, Jesus was tempted by satan, and what did satan do? He attacked and tempted Jesus with scripture; he knew what it said. So if our enemy knows scripture, there is no excuse that we don't. Jesus then countered satan with scripture back. That is our defence. When we have the knowledge to fall back on when the enemy strikes, we can parry and make a decisive strike on them with God's powerful words. Knowledge of God's word is so vital in this daily fight.

You can have all the best armour in the world, but if you don't have a sharp sword, you are at the mercy of the enemy. Pick up God's word, read it, study it and pray. Never underestimate the power of prayer!

Finally, trust in the Lord and in the power of His might, trust in His strength and have unfeigned faith in Him, no matter what! God will protect us, lead us, guide us and safeguard us against any attack, and any situation. Rest in His power and might, pick up your sword and endure, at all costs!

God is with us!
