In Luke 14, Jesus heals on the Sabbath and teaches about humility, saying those who exalt themselves will be humbled. He tells a parable about a banquet, showing that many reject God's invitation, so it is extended to the poor and outcasts, those willing to come. Jesus then warns the crowds that true disciples must count the cost, take up their cross, and forsake all to follow Him. The Greek text highlights deep commitment, humility, and the open invitation to God’s kingdom.
