πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί The Palekh style is a unique form of Russian folk and applied painting, developing since the 17th century in the village of Palekh, Vladimir region. The main element of Palekh is a miniature, a small image that is applied to various surfaces, such as cardboard, varnished board or metal. This style is famous for its unique fairy-tale plots, depictions of Russian life and folklore.

A characteristic feature of Palekh is the skill of the artists in creating the smallest details. The hallmarks of this style are fine lines, careful coloring, and the use of gold to highlight the images. The color scheme in Palekh is usually quite bright and saturated, with the dominance of colors such as red, green and gold.

Works in the Palekh style may differ in their purpose: they can be used as interior items, artistic panels, boxes, engravings or illustrations. Common themes include fairy tale characters, famous literary characters, or historical events. The Palekh style is a national treasure of Russia and continues to develop and conquer the hearts of folk art connoisseurs.

🏑 Dacha is a purely Russian phenomenon; in many European languages it is called "dacha" too.
Dachas appeared during the time of Petr the Great, who gave his subjects suburban plots so that they would not hesitate to experiment in architecture. This is what the king called it - dacha (from the word β€œΠ΄Π°Π²Π°Ρ‚ΡŒβ€ - to give)

πŸ‡·πŸ‡ΊRussia has never known slavery in its true concept. The period of the most fully expressed form of feudal dependence, serfdom, in Russia was shorter than, for example, in England and most European countries.

πŸ—“ In addition, serfdom in Russia had softer forms. Russia abolished serfdom in 1861, the United States abolished slavery in 1865.
