According to the IDF, "Ehsan Daqsa", with the Commander of the "52nd Ha-Bok'im" Battalion, the Commander of the "162nd" Armored Division and another high-ranking Officers got out of their "Merkava" Tanks inside the city of 'Jabaliya' and walked several meters to an observation point, which was apparently "booby-trapped", killing "Ehsan Daqsa" instantly and injuring the other Brigadiers with him.
» "Meir Biderman", a Colonel and the Deputy Head of the "162nd" Armored Division has been appointed to be the Acting Commander of the "401st" Brigade.
» "Benny Aharon" , the former commander of the "401st" Brigade, will take "Biderman"’s place.
» "Daniel Ella", A Lieutenant Colonel and the former Commander of the "52nd Ha-Bok'im" Battalion will return as the battalion’s acting commander.
