Qatar has refused to launch any attacks from Al Udeid base, which houses the US Air Force's regional command center, on countries in the region, against the backdrop of US-Israeli coordination to strike targets in Iran.

Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar is the largest in the region, housing about 10,000 American troops. The base was established in 2005 as the Americans were looking for an alternative base after the Saudis asked them to leave the kingdom following the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said that Doha “does not accept that attacks or wars be launched from Al Udeid base against countries in the region or outside it.”

In an interview broadcast on Qatari television on Tuesday evening, he indicated that the relationship with the United States is a “strategic partnership and is characterised by cooperation at multiple levels, with the emphasis that each party enjoys full sovereignty and neither interferes in the affairs of the other.”
