Israel didn't inform the Biden administration ahead of its intelligence operation that included exploding thousands of Hezbollah members' pager devices, two U.S. officials told Axios.

The explosions killed at least nine people, including a child, and wounded 2,750 others, among them many members of Hezbollah and its military units.

The operation was approved earlier this week during security meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior members of his cabinet and the heads of the security services, a source with knowledge said.

I don't think Hezbollah's response to the operation is imminent. Logically, the party needs to examine all the devices it has (or replace them). Are there other devices? Is there another breach in the communications system? Was the Israeli army able to know the locations of Hezbollah fighters based on the breach of these devices? I believe that after the party answers these questions, the response might happen.

This penetration could have led to a major disaster, had it not been for the the vigilance of the engineers of the Qassam Brigades who discovered the matter that day and thwarted it in time.
