🇷🇺 – The German government officially blamed Russia's military intelligence (GRU) for the August 4 attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport using an explosive-laden drone.

According to the investigation, a quadcopter carrying Semtex and PETN explosives, along with a detonator, was found near Ukrainian cargo planes. There was no explosion because the detonator failed to activate.

Authorities linked DNA evidence and the device's construction characteristics to previous operations attributed to the GRU.

In response, Germany summoned the Russian ambassador, ordered the closure of the Russian consulate in Bonn, closed the so-called "Russian House" in Berlin, and tightened entry controls for Russian citizens. German Chancellor Johann Wadephul stated that Russia "deliberately decided to further damage our already strained bilateral relationship."
