In response to this act of aggression, the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targeted positions occupied by the American military in the region.

Pursuant to Article 5 of the Islamabad Memorandum, authority regarding the control of passage through the Strait of Hormuz resides with the Islamic Republic of Iran. However, the United States, by instigating various factions, sought to violate this commitment. The necessary response has been executed and will continue to be executed. Should the aggression be repeated, our response will be more extensive than the current action."
