His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a phone call this evening from His Excellency Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the call, the two sides reviewed the latest regional developments and exchanged views on the efforts being made to support sustainable and just political solutions that contribute to enhancing security and stability in the region. They also reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring freedom of maritime navigation and its security through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with their sovereign responsibilities over their territorial waters, in conformity with international law, and preserving the interests of all regional and international parties.

By mutual agreement, today, May 29, the Vice President of the General Staff of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), General Legrá Sotolongo, and the head of the U.S. Southern Command, General Francis L. Donovan, met. The meeting was considered positive. Topics of interest to both parties were discussed, and it was agreed to maintain communication between the commanders.
