๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ โ€” MQ-25A "Stingray" unmanned aerial refueling aircraft soon to be in service with the U.S. Navy has been moved to Schedule C, meaning that it has been approved for production.

The primary use for the MQ-25A will be to free up the F/A-18E/F "Super Hornet" fighter jets for increased strike missions, as under the current system, some F/A-18s are required to refuel their fellow F/A-18s. Once the MQ-25A enters service, this will no longer be necessary.

The first MQ-25A aircrafts could enter service this year, however production delays could mean it will enter service in 2027.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŒŸ- L3Harris Technologies unveiled the OA-1K Skyraider II light attack aircraft at SOF Week 2026 in Tampa, designed to support U.S. Special Operations Forces in high-risk conflicts from remote and contested environments.

โžก๏ธ The aircraft directly answers U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command's (AFSOC) requirement for agile, flexible strike platforms capable of delivering close air support, precision strikes, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions from austere airstrips close to the battlefield.

โžก๏ธ The aircraft's Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67F turboprop engine, which generates about 1,600 shaft horsepower, allows it to cruise at over 210 knots for more than six hours, giving special forces operating in remote areas a continuous overwatch.

โžก๏ธ The aircraft's ability to be swiftly disassembled and reassembled, enabling it to be transported by cargo aircraft and swiftly redeployed, was a key feature that was highlighted at SOF Week.
