🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — President Trump is meeting with his national security team today to discuss next steps in the Iran war, including possible renewed military action, after negotiations with Iran deadlocked Sunday, according to Axios.

➡️ Options include restarting “Project Freedom,” the suspended U.S. naval escort operation in the Strait of Hormuz, or resuming airstrikes against the remaining 25% of Iranian targets identified by the U.S. military.

➡️ Israel is also pushing for a special forces mission to secure Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile, though Trump is said to view the idea as highly risky.

Two U.S. officials said Trump is leaning toward action to increase pressure on Tehran. “He will tune them up a bit,” one official said, while another added: “I think we all know where this is going.”

Officials added that they don't think Trump would order military action against Iran before he returns from China.

➡️ Strikes included an attack on a refinery on Iran's Lavan Island in early April, which sparked a large fire and significantly reduced its capacity. Iran retaliated with missile and drone strikes against the UAE and Kuwait.

➡️ The UAE had previously been Iran's primary target throughout the war, having absorbed over 2,800 missiles and drones, severely impacting its aviation, tourism, and property sectors.

➡️ The US has quietly welcomed UAE involvement, and was not troubled by the refinery strike as the ceasefire had not yet taken hold at that point.
